Below, a quote, a poem (love Bukowski), and a photo, all too good not to share.
It might be the changing of the seasons, but I've been feeling especially reflective lately. And I've become very absent-minded because of it. Twice this weekend, I missed my stop on the train - or got on the wrong one altogether - because I was so caught up in daydreams. Oh, well. There are worse things, right?
(Oh, and speaking of adventure, I know it's been a long time since I did one of these. I've got a couple of posts in the works - really looking forward to sharing them soon!)
Happy Monday!

Goodness, that last image is amazing. I can just feel that wonderful live-in-the-moment exhilaration.
ReplyDeleteI re-read your adventure posts. I look forward to your new adventures :) I try to go somewhere or do something every weekend that I've never been or done before. Something to look forward after a long week at work.
ReplyDeleteOMG! in love with the last picture :)
ReplyDeleteI got to try once :)
xx
I love Bukowski's work, and that poem is one of my favorites! This post is such a great way to start a Monday!
ReplyDeleteyes i think its the change of seasons i have felt a little dazed and tired lately too. somehow different. love this quote.
ReplyDeleteI love that poem! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJo, I'm impressed! Such a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteKathy, there are so many great ones!
Both of those quotes are maahh-velous, and I wish I could be swimming in that water in a rainstorm right now instead of heading off to work! Yay Monday!
ReplyDeleteI so needed to read that Bukowski quote today. Good timing, girl.
ReplyDeleteIf you have any other Bukowski rec's, let me know! I've enjoyed most things that I've read of his but never got as into him as I think I should.
love the quotes. totally perfect for a Monday.
ReplyDeleteOh, your train story made me smile. I don't think there can be enough of daydreaming in this world :) And I'm so excited for your adventure series to return!!! I hope you had a great weekend and a fantastic start to the week. Love the quote and poem!
ReplyDeleteha. i miss my stop cause i'm playing on my phone. i like ur reason better.
ReplyDeleteShoko, thanks for the Bukowski poem. I had never heard it, and today was just the day for it
ReplyDeletethis is my first week back in school - to get my PhD - and my professor opened her lecture today talking about the poor state of jobs in academia. It made me feel so disheartened and I just kept asking myself "what the heck am I doing here?" ... I needed the reminder to not let me dream be clubbed into dark submission.
I love the quote. (Tweeted it and linked your post.) There is nothing like realizing you've missed your stop. But at least the daydreaming was worth it, right? Lol. I just found your blog but I have to say I'm looking forward to your future posts :)
ReplyDeleteMolly, I love many of his poems - "Bluebird," "Raw With Love," "I Met a Genius" - but really, there are just so many good Bukowski QUOTES that I have written down all over my notebooks and taped to my walls. I love how delirious and over-the-top they often are. "Find what you love and let it kill you" - does it get better than that?
ReplyDeleteBecca, I do that, too. And often.
Sam, I am so glad you read it and felt better! You're getting your PhD - you should only feel GREAT about that! You're right, don't let them club you into submission :)
Anna, thank you! I'm so happy you found me!
I love it when you see things and think "AH, I've gotta share this!" <- Things that are inspiring that is... I appreciate other bloggers who do that, because it always brings me back for the little dose of upliftment, creativity, whatever it may be. :)
ReplyDeleteMissing the stop due to daydreaming! <- I had extreme cases of that while going through my divorce and then when having major crushes! waaaah!!! Oh my gosh! lol
I've got a bit of a mushy brain right now as well...
ReplyDeleteHope you don't miss too many more trains. :)
Ronnie xo
Love that poem. I can't wait to see what your next adventure holds!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the rec's! Now I have some mid-afternoon reading :)
