Up next week: green smoothies, the wonders of windows, a new POV about love. Until then!
Here Comes the Sun.
This morning I walked through sun-dappled McCarren Park and felt cold for the first time in a very long time. I had a sudden urge to sing "Here Comes the Sun" but realized moments later that this coming weekend is the last of summer. And though the past few months, to borrow George Harrison's words, have felt far from long or cold or lonely, I'm thrilled for the change in season. I love fall— its colors, its damp mornings, the creeping darkness of its four o'clocks. No one believes me, but I love winter, too. I've missed it. To quote George again, it feels like it's been years.
Have a wonderful (last) summer weekend.

You and me both. Today was magic. So excited for my first NYC autumn and winter.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you soon!
That light is freakin' magical. I love fall, too. And maybe I love winter a little, too, even though I hate ice. I don't mind snow, but ice is slippy.
ReplyDeleteHint of autumn in LA, too. Hard to believe it's almost October. George Harrison link was simply wonderful. Thank you. Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I love winter too, but I'm happily enjoying this sloooow transition into spring/summer now. I'll be in New York just in time for the cold of winter, come December though, so I'm super excited for that. I guess the best part about winter is the way better arsenal of clothing we get to wear!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is around the corner in Marseille too. Even though I love fall I am a bit nostalgic about summer fading away. I can feel the Mediterranean getting colder and colder day by day.

I'll admit that I'm happily handing winter over to you guys - we have a pool at our new place making me slightly more bitter for having to clean all winter and not be able to use :P
ReplyDeletethis is lovely, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I agree!
ReplyDeleteFee, I'll take it!
Love this! And loved the illustrated diaries and your last POV too :)
